Session 1:From Genesis to Revelation

Brand new church year and the first lesson in Fuel. What great timing. We welcome this week Cliff and Karen Lightsey as our new sixth grade teachers. Also new this week is Mrs. Debbie Stively who will be joined by Ms. Briana Collier in the ninth grade class. I hope you are excited and refreshed as we kick off the new church year.
This week's lesson is an overview of God's Holy Word. We have an awesome book from Genesis to Revelation that we all should study daily. This week at the meeting we were asked to fill out a survey as to how much we study the Bible. I don't know about you, but sometimes I feel embarrassed as to how much time I spend with God. I challenge each of you as I challenge myself to spend more time alone with God this year. I promise it will make a big difference if your Sunday School class. You cannot go wrong when you spend time with God.
Also, we were asked a question at the SS meeting. We were asked if we were happy with the literature we use in SS. How about it? Would EACH of you please blog back this week and let me know how you feel about the literature. Rate it from 1 to 10 with 10 being the best and give an explanation as well. This week we will start back with our class of the month competition. This month the winner will be the class which has the most visitors in your class that do not attend church anywhere else. Tiebreaker will be the class with most perfect attendance for the month. Please encourage your students to be involved with this challenge. We have become stale in our growth and I desire to see us on the move forward. Lookin forward to this year being the best year of our ministry together. Thanks...Billy :)

I personally like the literature. It is well done and utilizes scripture effectively. That's what Sunday School is all about - studying scripture! The only formats I have seen have been the study of world religions, but I really liked the way they were done. Going to start studying tonight for Sunday am - got to be on my game because I have Derrick Herrin!! (What a compliment to his parents by the way!) I am really excited about this new year and class. Thanks for the opportunity to serve!

I can't say much about the literature since we are just starting out, but from what I have seen it will help me to grow along with my class. I also have a Herrin and he has challenged us many time's with thing's that made us stop and think. This is one reason we wanted to move up to grow more with Christ and learn as the kid's do. I'm so excited also about this next year and we look forward to working and growing with all of you. Thank's Billy for letting us help.

Since I am an old timer who has taught FUEL from the beginning with Shelby and Jamie who were in 6th grade...all I can say is that I do enjoy the progression of FUEL these past 4 years.
I can't wait to begin teaching it again due to being refreshed and re- minded. (By the way...I do remember some really silly videos..lol...you new timers will see.)
Thanks again, Paula
Thanks again Billy for doing such a great job at leading us as your teachers. You are such a humble man it seems, not always having all the answers and willing to admit it.
