In Share Jesus without Fear the second question is "who is Jesus to you?" Such a great question, so different than who is Jesus? Who is Jesus should solicit something like, "The Son of God, prophet that lived 2000 yrs ago, the messiah, etc" but who is Jesus to me? Now that's different to a saved person. Our response is what our church is built on. Think about it, if we collectively believe that Jesus is Lord and the Lord of our life we will endeavor to Love and Obey Him. If only a scattering of individuals believe it, and not the church as a whole, how might church look different? How does our church look? Note: Ray Vander Laan has an excellent study on this that will blow you away. I recommend the whole series This lesson is in set 4. It's easier to buy the sets long and a long. I have the VHS if someone wants to watch.
Transfiguration; I have not had time to delve into any commentaries about this, but can someone help me? Whats it all about? I mean, Peter, James, and John already believe He is the Christ. Why record this episode with Elijah and Moses? I understand the part where the voice comes from heaven, it kicks Morman and Jehova Witness theology in the face. It almost reminds me of a Board meeting or something with 2 very heavy hitters from the OT. I love the story because it is filled with such intrigue for me.
Good studying!
